Jazbaa - Music Review (Arko,Amjad-Nadeem,Badshah)

Music of an Aishwarya Rai Bachchan film has to be special. Last time when one heard a soundtrack of a film of hers, it was ages ago in Guzaarish. Just like the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, the music of even this Sanjay Gupta affair is offbeat, what with a horde of artists coming together and creating a sound that is miles away from a conventional Bollywood score.

This is evidenced right at the start when Jubin Nautiyal's soothing vocals are heard in Bandeyaa. A soft composition put together by Amjad-Nadeem who come up with a soulful track (with Sanjay Gupta also contributing with the lyrics) that is almost devotional in appeal, Bandeyaa is the kind of number that can be put in a repeat mode and heard on loop. No wonder, the song is repeated with another new entrant Asees Kaur getting to croon a 'reprise' version. While she does well, it is the male version that calls more for your attention.

It is a jingle like setting though for Kahaaniya that puts you off as one actually assumes a commercial on display. In fact newcomer Nilofer Wani sings this one too like an ad jingle and though the song does no harm audio wise, one expects better things on display in tracks to come.It has got an instant liking quality attached to it! A pleasant listen.

Arko gets into a 'ghazal' mode soon after while roping in singer Vipin Aneja for Jaane Tere Shehar. A song tailor-made for Irrfan where he demonstrates his subtle one sided love story with Aishwarya. What one also notices at this point is an evolved taste in music for Sanjay Gupta who has otherwise believed in giving 'dhinchaak' numbers film after film.

The hunt for a 'dhinchaak' number ends soon after though with Badshah delivering yet another party number in the form of Aaj Raat Ka Scene. If you have been feasting on DJ Waale Babu all this while, this is the one for you to add to the list as the song carries a similar spirit (no pun intended) to it.

Picks-  Bandeyaa,Aaj Raat Ka Scene,Jaana Tere Sehar

Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 - Music Review (Hitesh Sonik & Sharib-Toshi)

"
Sharabi" , the opening track by guest composer duo, Sharib-Toshi is undoubtedly the best song of the album and one of the best party songs of the year! It's highly addictive with some quirky and catchy lyrics by Kumaar.Definitely this will find a spot in your party playlist!

"Paro" , the second song is also round about in the same party category to which "Sharabi" belongs and offers plenty of moments to tap your feet! Again one of this year's best party track.

The third track "Heeriye" is the romantic, soft track , that suits perfectly in the genre of rom-com , sung beautifully by Mohit Chauhan who is back after a hiatus , in fact going by the way he has sung the song ,he is back with a bang. The song is perfect to listen with your loved one , on a romantic date,or on a long-drive!

The last track of the album is "Moorakh" which is a fun, spoofy song and celebrates the theme of the movie!Perfect finish to the album.

A short and a sweet soundtrack!

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon - Music Review (Dr.Zeus,Amjad-Nadeem,Javed-Mohsin,Tanishk)

Javed - Mohsin's "DJ Bajega" is your typical bollywood party item number with crazy lyrics and insane music!Still it's very catchy! Amjad-Nadeem's "Jugni Peke Tight" belongs to the same cachy category and is also full of the masti quotient! After that comes the most catchy song of the album by Dr.Zeus (the Kangana hitmaker) , "Bam Bam" which I enjoyed a lot! Seriously this one although has not got any great lyrics but still the catchy music makes it extremely addictive.
"Samandar"  is the first romantic track of the album and this one completely belongs to Jubin! It's a pleasure to listen to his voice which is very rare ! "Billi Kat Gayee"  takes the album back to the masti track and is also a good listen , although I did not like it much , may be because I was listening to the songs of the same genre on a loop! Still you can definitely give it a try! The album ends with Kapil Sharma's song titled "Hum Toh Yaaro Latak Gaye"  , as the name suggests , it's a funny , situational song and you will enjoy it more because it's short and sweet with some great musicn by Dr.Zeus. The album also offers three remixes of "Bam Bam" , "Jugni Peeke" and "Billi Kat Gayee" which also offer some good beats!
Overall it's your typical, filmy-masala album and the songs will fetch plenty of whistles and claps in the cinema screens!

Rating- 3/5

Shaandaar - Music Review (Amit Trivedi)

Vishal Dadlani with his fantastic vocals , takes "Gulaabo" to another level! He is complimented well by Amit Trivedi's superb instrumentation and towards the end of the song, when Anusha sings her part and takes the reigns from Vishal, she makes sure that the song ends with a bang! One of the best songs of this year! This will surely go in my list of Top 20 of 2015!

The next song is the title track "Shaam Shaandaar." The song begins with a beautiful trumpet piece and then enters into the "wedding song" territory!A perfect follow up to Gulaabo! You will definitely enjoy it!

"Nazdeekiyan" is a small and soothing track sung beautifully by Nikhil Paul and really this is one of the best romantic songs that I have heard in recent times! The instrumentation is minimum which makes the maximum impact!I particularly loved the violin piece in the background!

"Senti Wali Mental " and "Raita Phail Gaya" are the "Masti" numbers and you can't stop yourself from tapping your feet while listening to both of them! I particularly liked "Senti Wali" because it's duration is about 9 minutes and it itself is like a musical trip!It really offers a lot and will keep on surprising you as it unfolds gradually! Not many songs like this are composed today!Talking about the artists , the song features Arijit Singh,Swanand Kirkire,Neeti Mohan and the man himself, Amit Trivedi! What else one could ask for! It's sheer brilliance! The lyrics are also very quirky and enjoyable!

"Raita Phail Gaya" has Divya Kumar ,offering some playful vocals which sets the mood for the entire song and makes it a cheerful listen!Perfect end to the album of this grandeur!

I have a confession to make-when the album was over,I was really sad which does not happen often! This was a really special album for me. It's a short and sweet musical journey which I will remember for a long long time! After an epic "Bombay Velvet" , Amit Trivedi is back with a bang! Thanks a lot Zee Music for bringing such masterpieces to us!Really you guys rock, just like Amit Trivedi! :) This album although is small but has the required depth which is lacking in many albums nowadays!Every song works in the favour of the album and is a perfect follow up to it's predecessor!

Rating-  4.5/5
